Is It Possible to Melt Laughing Cow Cheese Triangles?

I am sure that this question has been asked many times.

Who doesn’t love those tasty triangles and wondered if they could be melted?

So, the answer is yes, but there are some limitations to melting Laughing Cow triangles.

They have a very low-fat content, and typically, the higher the fat, the easier it is to melt something.  

So, actually, although they are already very soft, they have a high melting point.

Although they can be used in a sauce, such as Alfredo, the triangles will need a bit of encouragement to melt!

This can be as simple as adding milk, yogurt, or oil to the pan. 

Even then, you will need to chop the cheese into smaller pieces; otherwise, it will not melt evenly. 

Keep the heat low; otherwise, the triangles will just solidify.

As you know, Laughing Cow triangles are not very cheesy, so you could end up with quite a bland sauce. 

You may need to add a little extra flavoring, such as mustard and black pepper; otherwise, it will be very similar to a white sauce.

However, you can’t just melt a triangle on top of a burger or on a pizza, it just won’t work.

Laughing Cow can actually be a healthier substitute in some ways, as it is low fat and has fewer calories than most cheese.

They have a light version which contains only 25 calories, and extra light at 20 calories per triangle.

The recipe is secret but is thought to include Cheddar, Edam, Gouda, Emmental, and Comté and was developed in France in 1921 by Jules and Leon Bel.

Now, as you know, all of these types of cheese melt really easily.

So, why don’t the triangles melt properly?

Other than the low-fat issue we have mentioned previously, you have to realize that these cheeses have already been melted once.

That is how the Laughing Cow triangles are made, by melting and blending a variety of cheese and milk.

So, by already being melted, the structure of the cheese will have changed.

This makes it difficult for the cheese to melt again.

My Final Thoughts

It’s possible to melt Laughing Cow triangles, but it’s not an easy process.

The cheese has a low fat content which inhibits melting.

However, if the triangles are cut into small pieces and heated slowly, then the cheese should eventually melt to make a sauce.

Laughing Cow triangles are made from a variety of different cheeses and are low in calories.

This makes them a healthier snack.
